Ceiling

Faux painting a ceiling is a wonderful focal point for a room. A ceiling gives s client opportunities to apply many creative techniques. For example, if all the walls in a room are painted, a white ceiling makes the room appear unfinished. Painting a glaze on the ceiling will warm the space and finishes a room. Walls by Macaluso has a lot of experience in faux painting inset ceilings.

How to paint a ceiling

Faux painting a ceiling requires the same process that painting a wall does. Many clients like to use decorative stenciling for their ceiling applications. Accenting a chandelier with a beautiful stencil draws attention to the focal point of the room which is the chandelier. Macaluso Custom Design uses cornerstone stenciling for added creativity. Usually a ceiling is added to a room that's already has faux finished walls. It isn't usual for a ceiling to faux finished without walls also being painted.

Painted ceiling examples

Looking for a jaw dropping look for your ceiling? We can apply a faux finish look to a kitchen ceiling that looks like hammered copper. Other examples are metallic looks with accent colors, which involves a metallic luster stone that is troweled on the ceiling and detailed with stencils. An outdated cloud ceiling can simply be painted over to match a client’s wish for something new.

Macaluso Custom Design can also add a venetian plaster to a ceiling and using leaves from the clients own backyard dip them in plaster and embedded the imprint into the ceiling. A foil can then be applied to highlight and accent the imprint. It is quite a conversation piece!

Who should paint your ceiling?

Choose the experienced, creative faux finishing professionals to paint a look for your ceiling. They have extensive experience, creativity and attention to detail. Painting a ceiling is a labor intensive project that takes time. There are no short cuts to doing the job properly. The time it takes to paint a ceiling depends on the desired technique. A simple glaze could take a day. A painting and glaze technique could take up to two days. Applying texture could add 4-7 days to that.
